Overview
Bowhead seeks an Agile Project Manager to join our team supporting our MITSM customer in Stafford, VA.
This position is 100% onsite at the customer facility in Stafford, VA.
Responsibilities
-
Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including daily scrums, sprint planning, sprint reviews/demos, and retrospectives, ensuring effective application of Scrum practices while leveraging other Agile frameworks, including Kanban and Scrumban, as appropriate.

Coach teams and individuals in Agile practices by clarifying goals, defining actionable improvements, and promoting adherence to Agile principles across program initiatives.

Monitor and communicate Agile metrics to support transparency, alignment, and continuous improvement.

Support the Program Manager in coordinating and managing program activities across multiple projects, serving as a liaison between the Program Manager and project officers to facilitate communication, alignment, and timely execution of program objectives.

Provide administrative and operational support to the program, including coordinating and facilitating meetings, preparing agendas, documenting meeting minutes, tracking action items, and following up on outstanding tasks to ensure timely completion.

Collaborate with project officers and cross-functional stakeholders to monitor project progress, identify dependencies, and communicate project updates, challenges, and key decisions to the Program Manager.

Track, maintain, and report project and program risks, issues, and dependencies across multiple initiatives. Support risk mitigation efforts by coordinating follow-ups, documenting mitigation actions, and escalating concerns to the appropriate stakeholders.

Create and maintain high-quality program documentation, including status reports, meeting minutes, action item trackers, risk and issue logs, process documents, and other administrative and operational artifacts, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and alignment with program needs.

Leverage Microsoft and Atlassian tools, including Teams, SharePoint, Jira, and Confluence, to manage workflows, maintain documentation, support collaboration, and implement process improvements.

Build and sustain strong stakeholder relationships by providing excellent customer service, effective communication, collaboration, and conflict resolution across cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

High School Diploma and 9 years of experience, OR
-
AA and 7 years of experience, OR
-
BA/S and 5 years of experience.
-
5+ years of relevant experience in Agile coaching, project management, or business analysis.

Strong knowledge of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, Scrumban) and iterative development.
-
Experience with backlog tracking, sprint planning, burndown metrics, and Jira.
-
Excellent documentation, analytical, and conceptual thinking skills.
-
Exceptional attention to detail, interpersonal, and communication skills (written, verbal, and training).
-
Familiarity with software development processes and service-oriented environments.
-
PMP, CSM or equivalent certification highly desired.
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.

Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time

Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
Targeted salary range is $80,000 to $110,000 annually based on qualifications and experience.

Bowhead considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and business considerations when extending an offer.
