Summary

About the Position: Performing functions related to the protection, security, and implementation of district security programs, policies, and procedures to protect information, people, and facilities.

Duties

  • Manages personnel security actions, including clearance requests, position sensitivity determinations, and security records.
  • Conducts physical security assessments and maintains facility security plans, access controls, and incident-reporting processes.
  • Administers information, industrial, and antiterrorism security requirements for the district headquarters.
  • Oversees contractor guard-force performance as the primary or alternate Contracting Officer’s Representative.
  • Plans security exercises, delivers security training, and coordinates security support with tenants and law-enforcement partners.

Specialized Experience GS-07: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Reviewed administrative request packages for completeness and required supporting documentation; 2) Conducted routine compliance checks of work areas, records, or access controls using established procedures; 3) Maintained program records by entering, updating, and retrieving information from logs, files, or tracking systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). Specialized Experience GS-09: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Evaluated administrative records to identify incomplete, inconsistent, or missing information requiring follow-up; 2) Assessed program processes or work areas to identify deficiencies, vulnerabilities, or conditions requiring corrective action; 3)Analyzed program records or reports to identify recurring issues, trends, or areas requiring management attention. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). Time in Grade Requirement GS-07: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent. For the GS-07 you must have 52 weeks at the GS-05 level. Time in Grade Requirement GS-09: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent. For the GS-09 you must have 52 weeks at the GS-07 level. With regards to time-in-grade validation, if you held a position other than a GS pay plan, be sure your resume includes the pay plan and the salary you earned during the assignment. Without this information, your time-in-grade validation may not be able to be verified and will result in your not meeting the time-grade requirement for this vacancy. You will be evaluated based on how well you meet the qualifications listed in this vacancy announcement.
