Division: Within the Nursing Department at ELMHS, Located in Jackson, LA The Mission of ELMHS is to provide mental health evaluation, treatment, habilitation, and consultation for adults. Programs include inpatient interventions, jail-based evaluations, supervised group home and residential programs, forensic evaluation, care, custody, and aftercare; intermediate and long-term psychiatric care are coordinated with the total system of care in Louisiana. ELMHS is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented individual to join the team in the Nursing Department as an LPN! The selected candidate will provide comprehensive psychiatric nursing care by administering medications and treatments, monitoring patient behavior, documenting clinical care, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team, supervising support staff, educating patients, and ensuring compliance with clinical, safety, and regulatory standards. Possession of a current Louisiana Practical Nurse license, a temporary permit, or a multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state. • Transcribe doctors' orders accurately and in a timely manner
• Prepare, administer, and document medications and treatments as ordered.
• Document the patient's response to the medication regimen, PRN and stat dose administration. Provides patient teaching according to medications prescribed.
• Checks and justifies all medications from Pharmacy, and maintains a clean, orderly, and well-stocked medication room.
• Monitors patient status in milieu and assesses patient behaviors. Reports dangerous or inappropriate patient behaviors to RN supervisor.
• Provides written and verbal reports of ward/unit occurrences to RN and provides information for shift hand-off.
• Assists the Medical Doctor as needed and assures follow-up on orders are completed.
• Directs psychiatric aide staff and/or Correction Guard-Therapeutic in performance of their duties and serves as a resource for the same.
• Participates in unit activities and provides educational information for patients.
• Attends monthly staff meetings, in-service trainings, mandatory education trainings, and other educational programs.
• Maintains a current and unencumbered motor vehicle License

• This position has an SER of • $19.48 an hour or $1558.40 bi-weekly for LPN 1

• $20.48 an hour or $1667.20 bi-weekly for LPN 2

• $22.30 an hour or $1784.00 bi-weekly for LPN 3

• This position is eligible for the following premium pays (Per Hour Physically Worked):• Facility Longevity – Starting at $2.00

• Recruitment/Retention - $10.00

• This position qualifies for shift differentials, with rates varying based on shift time, day of the week, and holidays.
