Career Preparation Period Instructor
Location: Delaware Valley Job Corps Center, Callicoon, NY $45,000 per year • Full-time role Monday-Friday 7:45am – 4:45pm / Saturday & Sunday off
Delaware Valley Job Corps is an education and training center located in beautiful Callicoon, NY. We operate with student-focused programs to ensure successful training and employment placement for each individual we serve. As a CPP Instructor you will be responsible for providing instruction and training to students during their Career Preparation Program, the very beginning of their Job Corps journey. You will develop individual achievement plans, evaluates progress to ensure student early retention and success in the program.
JOB DUTIES

Conducts effective classroom instruction, evaluates student performance, and provides remedial support to help students complete CPP requirements.

Assesses student readiness for transition to CDP and provides individualized case management, mentoring, personal/career counseling, and progress monitoring.

Coordinates pre-arrival activities, including welcome, transportation, needs assessment, folder review, staff introductions, and Center tour.

Maintains accurate student records and documentation while following all integrity guidelines and DOL/Company requirements.

Mentors, monitors, and models Career Success Standards while providing effective supervision and positive behavior management.

Maintains a safe, organized, and supportive learning environment and collaborates with all departments to meet student needs.

Produces accurate, timely, and quality work while maintaining attendance, accountability, productivity, and professional communication standards.

Identifies and resolves problems, contributes to program improvement, and accepts direction and additional assignments as needed.

Qualifications
-
High school diploma or equivalent required
-
Valid in-state driver’s license required and must meet Company insurability requirements

Degree from an accredited school preferred
-
Previous group facilitation, teaching, or Job Corps experience preferred

The ability to sit, stand, climb, walk, lift, pull/push, carry, reach, stoop, and crouch.

Must be able to lift 40 pounds and/or assess the lift load and request assistance when necessary.
