The Financial Analyst will support the bank’s financial planning, treasury, and secondary market functions by analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and assisting with regulatory compliance. This role involves working with balance sheet metrics, interest rate risk analysis, budgeting, forecasting, profitability, liquidity reporting, and ad hoc analysis to facilitate informed decision-making, ensure accurate financial performance tracking, and support adherence to banking regulations. Additionally, the position updates the Financial Performance systems in compliance with regulatory requirements and works with the Senior Financial Analyst and outside partners to conduct liquidity forecasting, interest rate risk analysis, and stress testing.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists in preparation and review of business plans, forecasts, and budgets through use of ALM modeling or other tools.

Helps assemble and create the monthly ALCO, Board, and Business Review Committee packets.

Assists with providing data to third-party vendors in support of ALM modeling and reporting, including liquidity, profitability, Economic Value of Equity, stress testing, and Net Interest Income.

Provides backup support to the Senior Financial Analyst in all areas of Finance.

Maintains and updates Financial Performance systems in accordance with prescribed methods of use and regulatory requirements.

Provides support to the Senior Financial Analyst in preparing liquidity forecasting, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting, the annual budget, and stress testing.

Develops and runs reports and analyzes and reconciles data from multiple systems for analysis and reporting.

Provides ad hoc analysis as needed to ensure management has the information necessary to make decisions.

Supports the Senior Financial Analyst on the secondary market function.

Gathers requested documentation for all regulatory exams, audits, and validations for the Finance area and the Bank.
This role will interact with individual contributors within Thrivent, field organization, external vendors, contractors and/or consultants, Thrivent clients, and manager and/or directors within Thrivent.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
Required:
-
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related field.
-
Minimum of 0–3 years of experience in bank accounting or a finance discipline.
-
Minimum of 0–3 years of experience in the secondary market.
Preferred:
-
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
-
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
-
Eagerness to learn and grow within the finance function.
-
Advanced or strong intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
-
Ability to reconcile and analyze data from multiple systems.
-
Experience with financial modeling, reporting, or business-intelligence tools.

Attainment of an MBA, CPA, or CFA is desired but not required.

The applicable salary or hourly wage range for this full-time role is $77,478.00 - $104,823.00 per year, which factors in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will be determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to, location, relevant experience, skills, and knowledge, business needs, market demand, and other factors Thrivent deems important.
