Job Duties and Responsibilities Perform Massachusetts motor vehicle safety and emissions inspections in accordance with current RMV and Massachusetts Vehicle Check requirements. Inspect vehicles to determine whether they meet applicable Massachusetts safety and emissions standards. Examine vehicle components and systems included in the Massachusetts inspection program, including applicable: Braking systems Steering and suspension components Tires and wheels Lighting and signaling equipment Windshield, glass, mirrors, and visibility equipment Seat belts and other required safety equipment Exhaust and emissions-related components Vehicle identification and required safety equipment Perform emissions testing using approved Massachusetts inspection equipment and procedures, when applicable. Identify defective, unsafe, or non-compliant vehicle components. Properly operate, maintain, and use inspection equipment and testing systems. Follow all applicable Massachusetts RMV rules, regulations, inspection procedures, and testing requirement. Accurately enter inspection information the em. Issue inspection certificates or rejection documentation as required by Massachusetts regulations. and repairs to customers in . Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation. Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized inspection area. Protect the security of inspection certificates, records, and other inspection-related materials. Cooperate with authorized RMV, Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection, and inspection-program personnel during audits, reviews, or inspections. Maintain required inspector licensing, training, and certifications. Stay current with changes to Massachusetts inspection rules, procedures, and requirements. Perform other related automotive inspection duties as assigned.
