Full job description

Private equity firms increasingly influence finance, accounting, ERP, and operational technology decisions across their portfolio companies. The Private Equity Alliances Manager will own a defined North American territory of private equity firms and their portfolio company relationships, positioning Sage as a preferred finance and accounting technology partner for sponsor-backed businesses.

This role will serve as the strategic quarterback across Private Equity, Sales, Growth, Enablement, Delivery, Product, Customer Success, and Sage’s partner ecosystem. The focus will be on developing and executing territory strategy, building strategic relationships, acquiring new customers, and driving retention and growth across existing customers.

This is a Hybrid position based on-site 3 days per week in one of our North American offices.

Own and execute territory strategy

  • Develop and execute territory plans across an assigned book of private equity and venture capital firms in North America.

  • Build account plans for priority PE firms, including sponsor engagement strategies, portfolio mapping, and portfolio penetration plans.

  • Manage ongoing relationships with PE deal teams, operating partners, value creation teams, portfolio CFOs, and finance leaders.

Drive sponsor-backed revenue growth

  • Source and influence new customer acquisition opportunities through PE relationships, referrals, events, portfolio introductions, and strategic partnerships.

  • Support active sales opportunities by helping account teams navigate sponsor dynamics, board-level stakeholders, and value creation priorities.

  • Partner with sales leadership to help accelerate deal cycles, improve win rates, and grow average deal value in sponsor-backed opportunities.

Deliver white-glove service across the PE lifecycle

  • Serve as a primary relationship manager and escalation point for assigned PE firms and their portfolio companies.

  • Coordinate internal resources to support portfolio companies from evaluation through implementation, adoption, renewal, and expansion.

  • Help negotiate preferred commercial terms, MSAs, and strategic partnership frameworks where appropriate.

Lead cross-functional execution

  • Work cross-functionally with Sales, Growth, Enablement, Delivery, Product, Customer Success, Marketing, and Channel teams to execute the PE partner strategy.

  • Share market intelligence, sponsor feedback, competitive insights, and portfolio company requirements to inform enablement, product, and GTM priorities.

  • Support PE-focused enablement, thought leadership, executive roundtables, partner campaigns, and industry events.

Expand Sage ecosystem influence

  • Collaborate with Sage VARs, system integrators, advisory firms, fund administrators, consultants, and technology partners to create partner-led PE GTM motions.

  • Represent Sage at private equity conferences, operating partner events, portfolio company forums, and executive networking opportunities.
