Job Description

Insight Global Consulting is seeking a senior-level Delivery Manager to take ownership of a managed service supporting multiple business-critical legacy Supply Chain Technology applications under a strategic “Run to Retire” model. This role is not a traditional project manager focused on timelines and deliverables—it is a hybrid leadership role that combines people management, delivery oversight, and knowledge/process ownership. This individual will step into an existing, tenured support team responsible for multiple legacy platforms and focus on making the team more effective by introducing structure, improving execution, and creating long-term sustainability. The role will act as both a people leader and operational driver, ensuring work is properly prioritized, executed efficiently, and clearly communicated to both technical and executive stakeholders. A critical component of this role is serving as a “knowledge manager,” responsible for building and maintaining documentation frameworks, runbooks, playbooks, and SOPs to reduce reliance on tribal knowledge and ensure continuity across legacy systems. This individual will serve as the primary point of contact for Ryder IT leadership, driving governance, reporting, delivery health, and overall team performance.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a technical support/development team, providing direction, accountability, and performance oversight
  • Own delivery execution and team output, ensuring work is prioritized, completed, and aligned to business needs
  • Facilitate Scrum/Kanban ceremonies and manage backlog prioritization and team capacity
  • Serve as the primary liaison to Ryder leadership, providing clear communication on delivery, risks, and performance
  • Establish and maintain documentation frameworks (runbooks, SOPs, knowledge base, playbooks) to reduce reliance on tribal knowledge
  • Identify gaps in knowledge and implement scalable, sustainable documentation practices
  • Implement governance and reporting structures, providing visibility into workload, system health, and team performance
  • Deliver executive-level reporting on status, risks, capacity, and efficiency improvements
  • Drive process improvements and automation opportunities across support, delivery, and documentation workflows
  • Build strong relationships with technical teams and executive stakeholders, ensuring alignment, transparency, and a high-performing team environment

Skills and Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in IT delivery, operations, or program management within enterprise environments
  • Proven experience leading technical teams in a people management or team lead capacity, not just coordinating project work
  • Proven ability to step into ambiguous or unstructured environments and build governance, processes, and reporting from the ground up
  • Strong background supporting or managing legacy applications (mainframe, COBOL, highly customized systems, etc.)
  • Experience supporting Supply Chain Technology environments (WMS, TMS, Freight Bill Audit/Payment systems, etc.)
  • Experience leading production/application support teams, not just transformation or implementation efforts
  • Hands-on experience leading Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid delivery models in an operational (non-project-based) environment
  • Demonstrated experience driving backlog prioritization, team capacity planning, and operational efficiency improvements
  • Experience creating structured documentation environments (runbooks, SOPs, knowledge bases, playbooks)
  • Demonstrated ability to create executive-level reporting and communicate with VP/CIO-level stakeholders
  • Strong experience with tools such as Jira, ADO, ServiceNow, or similar
  • Ability to balance team capacity constraints with business priorities, driving realistic and transparent outcomes
  • Strong leadership and influence skills—able to guide and improve an established, tenured team without disruption
  • Exposure to Freight Bill Audit Payment (FBAP) Systems
  • Prior experience in a “Run to Retire” or legacy system sunset model
  • Familiarity with AI tools or automation solutions to improve reporting, ticket management, or team productivity
  • Background in mainframe or low-documentation environments
  • PMP or similar certification
