Cardinal Health is seeking an experienced and transformational Vice President, Product & Supplier Quality to lead quality strategy and execution across our global manufacturing and supplier network. This executive leader will have enterprise-wide responsibility for supplier quality, product quality, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across 25 global manufacturing sites and an extensive external supplier network. This role requires a seasoned quality and manufacturing leader with a proven track record of driving quality excellence in highly regulated manufacturing environments. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who can anticipate risk, build robust quality systems, strengthen accountability, and ensure operational discipline to prevent quality, compliance, and supply disruptions before they become business-critical events.

Responsibilities:

Enterprise Quality Leadership

  • Develop and execute the global product and supplier quality strategy aligned with business objectives, customer expectations, and regulatory requirements.

  • Provide executive leadership and oversight for quality operations across 25 global manufacturing facilities and strategic supplier partners.

  • Establish a proactive quality culture focused on prevention, risk mitigation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Lead enterprise-wide quality governance, management review processes, and quality performance monitoring.

Product Quality & Manufacturing Excellence

  • Ensure consistent product quality, reliability, and regulatory compliance across all manufacturing operations.

  • Partner with manufacturing leaders to strengthen process controls, quality systems, and operational discipline.

  • Drive quality excellence initiatives that improve performance while reducing defects, complaints, nonconformances, and compliance risks.

  • Utilize quality metrics and trend analysis to identify emerging risks and implement preventive actions before issues escalate.

Supplier Quality & Risk Management

  • Own the global supplier quality program, including supplier qualification, performance management, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Establish robust supplier oversight processes to ensure consistent adherence to quality and regulatory requirements.

  • Lead supplier risk management strategies that strengthen supply continuity and reduce business disruption.

  • Partner with procurement and supply chain leadership to improve supplier performance and accountability.

Regulatory Compliance & Inspection Readiness

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable global regulatory requirements, including FDA, ISO, cGMP, and other international standards.

  • Provide leadership for regulatory inspections, audits, responses, and remediation efforts.

  • Maintain a state of continuous inspection readiness across all sites and suppliers.

  • Escalate significant quality and compliance risks to executive leadership and drive timely resolution.

People Leadership

  • Build, develop, and retain a high-performing global quality organization.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, transparency, and employee development.

  • Coach leaders to elevate performance and strengthen organizational capabilities.

  • Develop robust succession plans and leadership pipelines across the quality function.

  • Lead through influence and collaboration while holding teams accountable for outcomes and execution.

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of progressive leadership experience in Quality, Manufacturing, Operations, or Regulatory functions within a regulated industry preferred.

  • Significant experience leading quality organizations supporting complex global manufacturing operations.

  • Demonstrated success overseeing both Product Quality and Supplier Quality programs.

  • Strong understanding of FDA regulations, Quality System Regulations (QSR), cGMP requirements, ISO standards, and global regulatory frameworks.

  • Proven experience leading regulatory inspections, audits, and remediation activities.

  • Track record of developing and implementing enterprise quality strategies that improve performance and reduce risk.

  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and executive stakeholder management skills.

  • Experience managing large, geographically dispersed teams and complex organizational structures.

  • Medical device, healthcare products, pharmaceutical, or other highly regulated manufacturing experience.

  • Experience leading quality organizations within a global manufacturing footprint.

  • Strong Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate and mitigate risk before issues occur.

  • Strong manufacturing mindset with deep understanding of operational realities and quality execution.

  • Proven ability to build accountability and performance across large organizations.

  • Decisive leader who can balance business needs, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Data-driven decision maker with strong analytical capabilities.

  • Collaborative executive capable of influencing across functions and levels.

  • Trusted advisor to senior leadership on quality, compliance, and operational risk.

  • Passion for developing talent and building high-performing teams.

  • Willingness to travel globally as business needs require - roughly 25%.

Anticipated salary range: $183,100 - $343,550

  • The salary range listed is an estimate. Pay at Cardinal Health is determined by multiple factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s geographical location, relevant education, experience, skills and an evaluation of internal pay equity.
