Description

The Administrative Office of the Courts is the operational arm of the Judicial Branch. The court system employs nearly 3,300 personnel who support 406 elected justices, judges, and circuit court clerks. The Office of Statewide Programs, Department of Specialty Courts has an opening for a Case Manager, in Region 4, Fayette County.

The Case Manager is responsible for case management, monitoring, and referral of participants in the areas of substance abuse treatment, educational, vocational, and life skills training, community resources and treatment programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains a caseload of specialty court participants and provides comprehensive case management services.

  • Conducts participant home visits and site visits.

  • Connects participants with treatment providers, community resources, and support services.

  • Provides crisis intervention and support as needed.

  • Monitors drug testing.

  • Administers drug testing as needed.

  • Conducts participant assessments, including assessments within correctional facilities.

  • Enters and maintains accurate data in designated case management systems.

  • Maintains thorough and timely case records and documentation.

  • Prepares files, and tracks court orders and related court documents.

  • Attends specialty court staffing meetings and provides comprehensive participant progress reports to the Specialty Court Judge and multidisciplinary team.

  • Attends court sessions and monitors participant compliance, engagement, and recovery progress.

  • Develops and maintains collaborative partnerships with community agencies, treatment providers, and other stakeholders to enhance services and opportunities available to specialty court participants.

  • Assists with or leads program events, including participant graduations and recognition ceremonies, as appropriate.

  • May assist with the training, mentoring, and onboarding of new specialty court staff.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION:Associate’s degree in human services, criminal justice, psychology, or similarly related field

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:NONE

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE:NONE

Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION:Additional relevant work experience will substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.):Successful completion of the KCOJ Adult Drug Court program may substitute for the minimum education requirement, provided the individual has remained in good standing for two years following completion of the program.

Working Conditions

Work is typically performed in an office setting. Must be able to work inside a detention center as needed. Must have a valid driver’s license. Due to the nature of the job duties and responsibilities, this position is not authorized for virtual work.
