The Part-Time Academic Professional Tutor is responsible for providing learning support to students with proactive tutoring and mentoring throughout their enrollment at Lansing Community College. Tutoring will focus on learning outcomes for student success including retention and completion. On campus work assignments may be scheduled during Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters, with evening and weekend assignments during the Fall and Spring semesters to best serve student needs. PT Tutors will participate in departmental training, tutor training, professional development activities, mentoring, and annual peer reviews. Professional Tutors may be a liaison for academic programs in assigned subject areas and/or career communities. In all duties this position must demonstrate the ability to work effectively with a diverse population of students and colleagues, in a team-based environment, seeking continuous improvement and be fully committed to the mission, values, and community college philosophy of Lansing Community College Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment.
