Full job description

The purpose of the Public Information Coordinator I is to plan, prepare, edit, and disseminate informational, educational, or marketing material on behalf of the agency through visual/digital media communications.

Responsibilities of the Public Information Coordinator I:

  • Plan, coordinate, and promote agency programs and activities through traditional and visual/digital media communications.
  • Take photos, shoot videos and/or design graphics for agency communications activities and divisions.
  • Assist with writing and editing social media captions, closed captions, and other communications for various formats and mediums.
  • Assist with the creation of social media content calendars and social media content, as well as scheduling social media postings.
  • Assist with the creation of shot sheets, storyboards, print layouts and concepts for graphics branding packages consistent with agency brand standards and in line with the communications strategy.
  • Conduct interviews, research topics, and gather information for use in various agency communications.

A high school diploma or equivalent. Applicants indicating college credit or degree(s) on the application will be required to bring a copy of college transcript to the interview. A copy of the transcript may also be uploaded as an attachment to the application, if required by the hiring department or if desired by the applicant. Please note that some areas of the Agency may require an official, certified copy of the transcript prior to hiring or within a specific timeframe required by that area, after hiring. Failure to produce an official, certified transcript may result in not being hired or termination. Additional Requirements:

  • May require some overnight travel and work beyond 37.5hour/week and could include nights, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
