REMOTE Full Stack Developer

Job Description

A client of Insight Global is hiring 6 Full-Stack Software Engineers across multiple development teams due to continued company growth, increased workloads, and new client acquisition. These engineers will support and enhance Nelnet's core lending and loan servicing platforms by building new features, developing APIs and microservices, modernizing existing applications, and improving system performance and scalability.

While the title is Full-Stack Software Engineer, the role is primarily backend-focused, with approximately 84-90% of development work occurring on the backend. Engineers will spend most of their time working in TypeScript, Node.js, SQL databases, APIs, and microservices, partnering with product and business teams to deliver new functionality across the lending platform.

The team is seeking engineers who can quickly contribute to a production environment and have strong experience building scalable applications. While candidates do not need to be experts across the entire stack, hiring managers are specifically prioritizing developers with strong TypeScript and Node.js experience over candidates whose background is primarily in .NET.

Compensation

• Salary Range: $90,000 - $130,000

Skills and Requirements

Backend Development (Primary Focus)

Mid to Senior level !!

Experience with TypeScript and Node.js for building and enhancing backend services that support Nelnet's Velocity lending and loan servicing platforms

Experience developing APIs and microservices that power loan origination, servicing, and management workflows

Strong understanding of SQL databases, including query development, data modeling, and support of high-volume transactional applications Frontend & Customer Experience Development

Experience with Angular and modern web application development Ability to contribute across the full stack, including frontend interfaces, APIs, and backend services

Experience building responsive, customer-facing applications and improving user experience (UX/CX)
