Full job description

The Michigan Civil Service Commission is looking for a motivated individual who has strong managerial skills, is organized, can analyze, and interpret information, and can foster positive working relationships. This position will be responsible for managing a Human Resources Office providing a full range of human resources duties for Newberry Correctional Facility.

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Excellent managerial and organization skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to plan and think ahead to avoid potential issues.
  • Be able to build and foster positive relationships within the workplace.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, explain, and apply policies, rules, regulations, manuals, job aides, and collective bargaining agreements.
