Senior Accountant

Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to support core accounting operations in Stamford, Connecticut. This role is suited for a detail oriented individual who can manage reporting deadlines, maintain accurate financial records, and contribute to a well-controlled close process. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to work effectively across teams.

Responsibilities:

• Lead monthly closing activities to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.

• Analyze general ledger activity and investigate variances or unusual transactions.

• Maintain the integrity of financial records by verifying completeness and accuracy of accounting data.

• Assist in preparing internal and external financial reports in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.

• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to gather information, resolve discrepancies, and improve reporting accuracy.

• Support audit requests by organizing documentation and responding to inquiries in a timely manner.

• Identify opportunities to strengthen accounting procedures and enhance efficiency within the close cycle. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Several years of progressive accounting experience in a senior-level capacity.

• Hands-on experience managing month-end close activities.
