Audits procedural patient records in the Cardiovascular Department and Operating Room for appropriate charges and clinical documentation. Reviews and verifies the accuracy of charges entered for OR/Cardiac Cath procedures. Evaluates charge discrepancies and provides solutions to ensure accurate billing. Communicates with department management and staff regarding any charge and documentation issues. Educates staff on charging and documentation updates and best practices. Supplies monthly reports regarding charge problems to department director. Updates charge description master (CDM) charges as directed through corporate guidelines. Updates charge forms and ensures they reflect current procedures and pricing. Processes purchase orders for implants and ensures accurate documentation. Prices and releases manual charges for devices and procedures. Identifies potential resolutions to problems in data collection and documentation. Provides back-up support to staff in charge entry and documentation processes. Other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of electronic medical record [Required]
  • Computer proficiency including Excel and Word [Required]
  • Good organizational skills [Required]
  • Knowledge of Surgical/CathLab supplies and products [Required]

Education:

  • Associate [Required] In Cardiovascular Technology, Emergency Medical Services, Nursing, Radiologic Technology or Respiratory Therapy

Work Experience:

  • Charge capture and experience with inventory and supply purchase [Preferred]
  • Operating Room/Cath lab/Interventional Radiology experience [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) [Preferred]
  • Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) [Preferred]
  • National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT) [Preferred]
  • Certified Billing and Coding Specialist (CBCS) [Preferred]
  • Radiologic Technologist - License (RT-LIC) [Preferred]
  • State Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) [Preferred] OR NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) [Preferred]

Pay Range:

$21.95 - $40.82 Background Screening Requirement (Florida Law)
