Land Survey Project Manager (Richmond, VA)

This position is responsible for making precise measurements to determine property boundaries. The candidate will provide data relevant to the shape and contour of the Earths surface for engineering, mapmaking, and construction projects. The role includes performing topographic and boundary surveys, preparing plats, flood certificates, and construction stakeout. The land surveyor will work closely with project managers and survey technicians to transition projects seamlessly from one phase to the next. Responsibilities also include field verification, quality control and assurance of survey data, researching land and survey records, preparing plots, maps, and report deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Perform topographic and boundary surveys.

• Prepare plats, flood certificates, and construction stakeout.

• Work closely with project managers and survey technicians.

• Conduct field verification and quality control of survey data.

• Research land and survey records and land titles.

• Prepare plots, maps, and report deliverables.

Essential Skills

• Experience in land surveying and project management.

• LS or LSIT certification required.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Micro-Station, Carlson software, TBC and TGO, Topcon Civil Suite, and SurvCE.

• Knowledge of ALTA/ACSM standards and Virginia DPOR regulations.

• Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and municipal regulations, and Virginias CPSM.

• GIS and GPS technology proficiency.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to perform mathematical calculations involving probability, statistics, algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.

• Skill in interpreting construction plans, maps, plats, and legal descriptions.

• Effective oral and written communication skills.

• Experience in directing, supervising, training, and evaluating staff performance.

Work Environment

The position may require travel for temporary assignments to other offices projects, which could include unexpected weekend stays. Candidates must be willing and able to travel throughout Virginia and surrounding states, and work overtime as needed. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $120000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
