We provide support and opportunities to our employees to achieve their full potential and cultivate a rewarding career. The Thornton Tomasetti Construction Engineering Practice leverages our core Structural Engineering expertise to meet the engineering needs of our contractor. We provide contractor support engineering, tower crane engineering, skip hoist engineering, shoring and reshoring design, excavation and earth retention engineering, connection design, erection engineering, contractor support engineering. We also partner with contractors and sub-contractors to provide value engineering ideas and perform structural design on design-build projects. Your Role As a Structural Engineer in our Construction Engineering Practice, you will contribute to the design of temporary works, steel connections, and construction systems that bring complex structures to life. You'll work on real-world engineering challenges where sequencing, constructability, and field constraints matter as much as analysis. You'll contribute to small and mid-sized assignments while developing foundational skills in sequencing, stability, constructability, and erection engineering. With support from your team, you'll work in a collaborative environment ideal for engineers eager to grow their technical and practical expertise. What You'll Do Apply engineering principles to design temporary structures and construction systems, including shoring, bracing, and lifting plans. Support the analysis and design of structural steel connections, developing an understanding of connection behavior, detailing, and fabrication constraints, including connections ranging from simple shear connections to complex, multi-member nodes with intricate load paths. Prepare calculations, drawings, and models within a BIM environment. Collaborate with contractors and fabricators to ensure solutions are practical, efficient, and aligned with field conditions. Communicate clearly and professionally with teammates and project partners while learning to navigate real-world construction challenges. Build your early-career network and get to know TT's culture, values, and services while practicing leadership behaviors like authenticity and effective communication. What You'll Bring Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; Master's degree preferred. Familiarity with tools such as ETABS, SAP2000, Tekla, Revit, or AutoCAD is a plus.
