PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an experienced Microelectronic Technician to join our team in Manhattan Beach, California, partnering with a leader in the aviation and aerospace industry.

What You'll Do

As a Microelectronic Technician supporting semiconductor equipment operations, you will:

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on a broad range of front-end and back-end semiconductor equipment, including steppers, evaporators, sputters, implanters, etchers, coaters/developers, and dicing saws.

  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, vacuum, pneumatic, and basic software/control issues involving legacy and custom equipment.

  • Partner closely with process engineers, researchers, and tool owners to rapidly identify and resolve equipment issues in a dynamic Production/R&D setting.

  • Document maintenance activities, equipment downtime, and parts usage using internal tracking systems.

  • Support equipment installations, upgrades, and decommissioning , coordinating with vendors and facilities teams as needed.

  • Maintain and order critical spare parts, consumables, and safety components.

  • Follow cleanroom protocols while ensuring equipment meets established safety, cleanliness, and calibration standards .

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives designed to increase equipment uptime, reduce maintenance cycles, and improve the overall user experience.

Required Qualifications

To be successful in this position, you'll need:

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • 2+ years of experience in equipment maintenance or a technical trade.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and drawings.

  • Familiarity with vacuum pumps, gas systems, and cleanroom operations .

  • Ability to work independently in a research-driven environment with frequent equipment and tool changeovers.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to safely work around sophisticated mechanical and electrical equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

We'd especially like to hear from candidates who bring:

  • An Associate degree or technical training in Mechatronics, Electronics, or a related field .

  • Experience working with legacy semiconductor equipment and both wet and dry processes.

  • Experience in low-volume, high-mix R&D or prototyping environments .

  • Basic understanding of front-end and back-end semiconductor fabrication process flows.

  • Familiarity with safety protocols involving gases, chemicals, and high-voltage equipment .

  • Previous experience supporting semiconductor fabrication equipment in a cleanroom environment.

Pay Details: $51.08 per hour
