Job Description Summary

The successful candidate(s) will be a Senior Materials Engineer for nondestructive testing and evaluation technologies for Wind Turbine products.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Maintain material and special process specifications for nondestructive test methods and procedures.

  • Work with suppliers to interpret specifications/standards and optimize production methods/techniques.

  • Evaluate the use of automatic and AI systems for NDT

  • Review supplier and service provider NDT procedures and techniques to ensure compliance with codes, standards and specifications.

  • Service and RCA projects support – NDT process development for field inspection and validation. Interface with services teams and 3rd parties to develop field procedures and review results.

  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements and standard work.

  • Identify technology development opportunities for growth and investment.

Required Qualifications

  • For roles outside of the USA- Significant experience in NDT methods including UT, Eddy Current, MPI, phased array. Demonstrated proficiency in advanced techniques.

  • For roles in USA - Master's degree from an accredited university or college or at least 20 years of experience in these methods.

  • Ability and willingness to travel 30% or more as needed domestic and global.

Desired Characteristics

  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

  • Welding experience strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and document programs / projects.

  • Experience working with suppliers and equipment manufacturers.
