This role sits at the intersection of technical accounting, financial reporting, audit readiness, and cross-functional business partnership. You will research and draft accounting conclusions for complex and significant transactions, support the preparation of audited financial statements and other monthly and quarterly reporting, and help develop scalable accounting policies, controls, and reporting processes.
What you'll do:
-
Research complex accounting - Analyze new, unusual, and complex transactions matters (such as leases, financial instruments, or business combinations) and prepare clear, audit-ready technical accounting memos and whitepapers under U.S. GAAP.
-
Own end-to-end financial statements and disclosures - Prepare GAAP financial statements, footnotes, and supporting schedules; maintain roll forwards, tie-outs, and internal consistency checks to ensure outputs are complete and audit ready.
-
Strengthen audit and control readiness - Coordinate assigned external-audit requests, maintain supporting documentation, and execute controls supporting financial reporting, SOX, and IPO readiness.
-
Improve policies, processes, and tools - Monitor new accounting guidance, update assigned policies, and improve reporting templates, workflows, and systems through standardization and automation.
-
Partner cross functionally - Work with Corporate Accounting, Legal, Corporate Development, Treasury, Tax, FP&A, and Program Finance to evaluate transactions and implement approved accounting conclusions.
Required qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
-
Active CPA license
-
3+ years of progressive experience in public accounting, technical accounting, financial reporting, and/or a high-growth operating environment.
-
Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and demonstrated experience researching accounting guidance and documenting technical conclusions.
-
Experience preparing or auditing financial statements, footnote disclosures, and supporting schedules.
-
Proficiency with Excel and experience with ERP and financial reporting systems; Workiva experience is preferred.
-
Clear communication skills with strong ownership, judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
