In this role, you will provide leadership to the Cast Members who operate the energy plants across the WDW Resort. You will also provide operational ownership of the mechanical and electrical systems within assigned central energy plants, including chilled water, hot water, compressed air, and associated utility distribution systems.

You will report to the Sr. Manager, District Plants and Utility Maintenance Operations. This is a full-time, second-shift position scheduled from 2:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. and based on-site in Orlando, Florida.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the safe, reliable, and efficient daily operation of energy plants that provide chilled water, hot water, and compressed air services to the WDW Resort.

  • Plan, budget, coordinate, and complete preventive and corrective maintenance, equipment outages, and non-routine work within approved financial and operational requirements.

  • Champion a proactive safety culture through visible leadership, active engagement, and accountability in support of the commitment that no one gets hurt.

  • Lead, coach, and support a team of unionized Cast Members responsible for operating and maintaining assigned energy plants and utility equipment.

  • Coordinate with RCES partners, Engineering, project teams, and contractors on equipment repairs, plant improvements, and capital projects performed within active operating facilities.

  • Procure repair parts, operating supplies, and specialized services needed to maintain assigned assets and support plant reliability.

  • Partner with internal clients to align plant capabilities, operating conditions, service expectations, customer requirements, and planned outages.

  • Provide accurate and timely operating information to Engineering to support equipment evaluations, system modifications, capital planning, and plant upgrades.

  • Prepare and maintain accurate regulatory, environmental, safety, and operational compliance documentation and reports.

  • Provide coaching, performance feedback, and development support to help Cast Members build capability and advance their career goals.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Eight (8) or more years of progressive experience in planned work, maintenance planning, scheduling, coordination, and execution for plant, utility, or industrial equipment, including experience supporting chillers, air compressors, hot water boilers, and related plant support equipment.

  • Possess an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Section 608 Universal Certification or obtain the certification within 90 days of hire.

  • Demonstrated experience leading teams through operational, organizational, or process change.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with Cast Members, leaders, clients, contractors, and other internal and external partners.

  • Proficiency with SCADA and Human Machine Interface (HMI) systems used to monitor, operate, and control mechanical utility plant equipment and systems.

  • Proficiency using an Enterprise Asset Management system to procure parts, supplies, and outside services; manage maintenance activities and personnel; document completed work; and coordinate preventive maintenance programs.

  • Ability to work safely and effectively in varied environments, including outdoor locations and active industrial plant settings.

  • Availability to work outside scheduled hours in response to operational demands, equipment availability, planned outages, and system or equipment emergencies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using Maximo for Utilities or a comparable Enterprise Asset Management system.

  • Working knowledge of applicable ASHRAE guidelines and standards.

  • Understanding of plant control and communication systems, utility distribution systems, and critical-path activities within an energy plant environment.

Education
