Job Description

Assist the Project Manager with day-to-day management of low-voltage and telecommunications projects. Conduct site walks and document existing conditions. Coordinate with contractors to schedule cabling, fiber, AP, rack, and IT room work. Review project scopes and confirm that contractor work matches the requested requirements. Track open items, deficiencies, punch-list items, and project completion. Coordinate with IT and other university departments when network connectivity or equipment is involved. Review cable labeling, patching, pathways, rack installations, and other physical infrastructure. Collect and organize fiber/copper test results and project documentation. Assist with obtaining and comparing contractor quotes. Track materials, equipment, deliveries, and project schedules. Assist with reviewing invoices against completed work. Maintain project trackers and provide regular status updates to the Project Manager. Coordinate access to buildings, IT rooms, offices, and construction areas. Ensure contractors provide required as-builts, test results, photographs, and closeout documentation. Identify issues early and escalate them to the Project Manager before they affect the project schedule or budget.

Skills and Requirements

Strong communication skills, with experience meeting with vendors and key stakeholders and evaluating quotes. Eager to learn, sharp, and professional. Strong technical aptitude, including familiarity with copper cabling, fill ratios, and IT rooms; able to understand technical requirements and communicate them effectively to hiring teams. Physically able to climb ladders and lift materials as required. Able to read blueprints and work effectively with PDF documents and tools. Bachelor's degree required
