SVP Sr. Lead Software Engineer, Risk Technology

Job Description

A client of Insight Global is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the design and development of high-performance, ultra-low-latency systems supporting electronic trading. The role is heavily focused on Core Java, microservices, algorithmic trading engines, and trading-system architecture. They will own key technical decisions, optimize system performance, solve complex engineering challenges, and provide technical leadership through architecture reviews, code reviews, and mentoring.

Skills and Requirements

10+ years of hands-on software development experience with high-performance, low-latency systems. Expert-level Core Java development experience. Deep understanding of JVM internals, concurrency, garbage collection tuning, and memory management. Experience designing and developing automated or electronic trading systems. Experience with trading algorithms (smart order routing, benchmark algorithms, or similar execution strategies) Strong understanding of FIX and other financial market protocols. Experience handling high-volume order and market data. Strong distributed systems and microservices architecture experience. Experience with testing frameworks, Agile development, and CI/CD. Proven technical leadership, architecture, code review, and engineering mentorship experience. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Master's degree Experience with other high-performance languages, particularly Rust
