Summary

About the Position: This position is located at William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, Texas. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.

Duties

  • Establish stock levels, determines and adjusts reorder points considering factors such as usage rates, shelf life, storage capability, lead time, and fluctuations in demand.
  • Resolve problems relative to damages, over/under shipment, and questionable product quality.
  • Store items in appropriate order on shelf and arranges items in generic name order, changing locations as necessary to accommodate new items or removal of unnecessary items.
  • Package and label products to ensure proper handling, storage, and accountability.
  • Receive, review, and interpret prescriptions and performs necessary steps to correctly type, fill and dispense prescriptions within the parameters of established policy, procedures and instructions.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
