LOCATION OF POSITION: Fairport, NY 14450; Business Office

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT:12-Month Position, Full-Time (8 hours per day)

STARTING DATE:10/30/2026

SALARY RANGE:$21.64 - $28.85 per hour

*Actual Salary is Dependent Upon Education, Experience and Contract.

Duties:

  1. Maintain and audit financial records, books, files and accounts and reconcile with department financial records and accounting balances for various budgets and accounts, including Federal and State accounts.

  2. Perform independently more complex and difficult tasks of the clerical unit, such as setting up account books; plans and schedules account keeping and financial record keeping activities, such as computing bills, fees and penalties; processing vouchers for payment; posting to accounts routine details of transactions, assessments and fees; maintaining computerized files.

  3. Compile fiscal data and prepare reports for financial, statistical, or budget purposes

  4. Responsible for the submission of reports for all State and Federal Funding, Grants and Contracts.

  5. Develops budget reports, profit and loss statements, and financial reports for federal and state agencies.

  6. Compile data, analyze and check for completeness and accuracy.

  7. Sort, distribute and file materials in a manual and electronic management filing system

  8. Monitor grant activities to ensure compliance with appliable laws, regulations, grant requirements, and organizational policies.

  9. Respond to inquiries and assist with resolving questions, issues and concerns.

  10. Collaborate with Admirative Staff regarding budget discrepancies, appropriations, amendments and supporting justifications.

  11. Act as a Liaison with the New York Sted Education Department

  12. Provide information to auditors internal and external as needed

  13. Crosstrain with co-workers on various duties.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Civil Service eligibility as a Principal Office Account Clerk: Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma, plus EITHER:

(A) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State college or university with a Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance plus two (2) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience in bookkeeping, account keeping, or financial record keeping; OR,

(B) Four (4) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience as defined in (A) above; OR,

(C) An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above.

  1. Strong background in finance, record keeping, accounting and School district accounting or grants experience, preferred.

  2. Computer experience necessary, Windows and Excel experience, required.

  3. WinCap and Microsoft Teams and Outlook knowledge preferred.

  4. Strong interpersonal communication skills with both peers and administrators.

  5. Evident teamwork experiences through past positions, preferred.

  6. Accuracy and attention to detail required.

  7. Physically able to perform essential functions of the position (with or without reasonable accommodation).
