Description
The Leidos Defense Electrical Systems Department is seeking talented Entry-Level Avionics Engineers for its Hypersonics line of business. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Leidos provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions. The selected candidate will support the Common Hypersonic Glide Body program (CHGB). The CHGB is the Army’s #1 priority for strategic weapons capability for long-range precision fires and will counter and gain a lead on our adversaries' technological advances in this field, come join us in this exciting, cutting-edge field.
The selected candidate will be expected to execute in a fast-paced, small team environment through phases of the hardware life cycle from manufacturing, qualification testing, and post-delivery support. With a product focus, the individual is also expected to actively partner with other engineers, project managers, technicians, and customers to develop solutions that adhere to a diverse set of requirements. Primary Responsibilities.

Conduct non-conformances investigations of advanced digital and analog avionics electronics components including power electronics, actuators, instrumentation, sensors, embedded computers, and digital communications networks.

Use electrical drawings to troubleshoot test equipment and unit under test
-
Work through root cause corrective action
-
Assist in requirement decomposition
-
Prepare drawings and documentation for manufacturing purposes
Basic Qualifications.
-
BS in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution and 0+ yearsof relevant experience
-
Ability to work in a team environment
-
Ability to engage with external stakeholders
-
Good written and oral communication skills
-
Familiarity with reading engineering drawings, electrical schematics, cable/wiring diagrams, and the corresponding work instructions to produce complex assemblies and provide valuable feedback to program leadership
-
Familiarity with requirement decomposition
-
Provide rapid integration and troubleshooting support for system-level integration
-
Organizational skills to document designs, assist with Technical Data Packages (TDP) and support production and test of the avionics
Preferred Qualifications.
-
MS in Electrical Engineering and 0+ years of relevant experience
-
Knowledge of manufacturing and production of avionics components
-
Knowledge of electronics integration, test, and troubleshooting
-
Must have hands-on laboratory experience with instrumentation, test equipment, and test methods including the use of oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, etc.

Knowledge of test development to support troubleshooting hardware failures
-
Knowledge of circuit design – analog, digital, power
-
Knowledge of National Instruments Software
-
Experience in a MIL-STD-810 Test Environment
-
Knowledge of ASME and IEEE standards
-
Experience supporting DoD programs related to missile systems, reentry vehicles, or hypersonic technologies
-
Prior work in assembly, integration, or testing of missile systems.

Experience supporting rapid development, prototyping, or fast-paced engineering programs.

- Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $57,850.00 - $104,575.00
