Staff Accountant

Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations. This role is well suited for someone who can maintain accurate financial records, assist with close activities, and contribute to reliable reporting. The ideal candidate brings strong organizational skills, sound accounting knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and record journal entries to ensure financial transactions are accurately reflected in the accounting system.

• Maintain and review general ledger activity, identifying discrepancies and helping keep balances current and accurate.

• Assist with month-end closing tasks, including account analysis, documentation, and timely completion of assigned deliverables.

• Reconcile balance sheet and other key accounts on a regular basis, researching and resolving variances as needed.

• Support accounts payable processes by verifying coding, reviewing supporting documentation, and helping ensure timely payment processing.

• Compile financial data and maintain organized records to support reporting requirements and internal reviews.

• Partner with colleagues across finance and operations to clarify transaction details and improve the accuracy of accounting information.

Requirements • Experience preparing journal entries and working with core accounting records in a detail-focused environment.

• Working knowledge of general ledger maintenance and month-end close procedures.

• Background in account reconciliations with the ability to investigate and resolve inconsistencies.

• Familiarity with accounts payable workflows, including invoice review and expense coding.

• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy when handling financial information.

• Ability to manage deadlines, prioritize tasks, and communicate effectively with internal stakeholders.
