Engineer -Distribution Engineering System Design G.R.I.D. Edge

Required Education/Experience

• Bachelor's Degree Engineering and Minimum 3 years of engineering work experience Engineering work experience in (Regional, Customer, Generation, Substation, Central), Relay Protection, Substation Operations, Generating Plants, Electric Operations field organizations, Control Center operations/support

Preferred Education/Experience

• Bachelor's Degree Electrical Engineering

Relevant Work Experience

• Must be flexible and capable of exercising independent judgment; required.

• Ability to effectively interact with internal and external customers, support staff, and various levels of management is required.

• Working knowledge of relay protection and control systems is preferred.

• Ability to interpret electrical diagrams and customer site plans is preferred.

• Knowledge of electrical switchgear and transformer configurations is preferred.

• Knowledge of relay protection is preferred.

• Experience working with Poly Voltage Load Flow is preferred.

• Electrical engineering experience is preferred.

• Experience working with analytical software such as SINCAL, CAPE, and CYME TCC is preferred.

• Knowledge of distributed generation interconnection designs is preferred.

• Field experience involving the electric distribution system is preferred.

Skills and Abilities

• Demonstrated problem solving skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Well organized, detail oriented and flexible to handle multiple assignments

• Ability to drive multiple projects to successful completion

• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, etc.

Licenses and Certifications

• Driver's License Required

Additional Physical Demands

• The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.

• Must be able and willing to travel within Company service territory, as needed.

• Must be able to work rotating shifts and 12 hour shifts, as needed

• Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment as required, during visits to various work sites.

• Must be able to work in all weather conditions.

• Position requires walking, climbing, and standing extensively.
