Sourcing Specialist – Strategic Sourcing Senior Analyst
Location: New Britain, CT | Remote
Pay: up to $36/hr
Hours: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm
This is a 6 month contract with possible extension

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Sourcing Specialist – Strategic Sourcing Senior Analyst to focus on the procurement of Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) Utilities parts for SBD plants throughout North America. In this pivotal role, you will drive change, consolidate the supply base, develop category-specific sourcing strategies, and manage their rapid implementation across multiple business units.
You will work closely with global category leads, analyze current procurement processes, and lead supplier rationalization to enhance efficiency and value. This position is part of a global team and plays a key role in aligning local and global sourcing strategies.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage multiple RFP processes, including data and spend analysis, RFP development, and internal approval coordination.

Analyze supplier bids, present results to stakeholders, and negotiate contracts through completion.

Lead the implementation of category sourcing strategies in line with global vision and business unit goals.

Develop market intelligence, tracking industry trends, technologies, and economic influences affecting MRO Utilities.

Ensure high levels of service delivery and internal customer satisfaction.

Negotiate and manage large-scale, enterprise-wide purchase agreements.

Drive total cost of ownership (TCO) value, through productivity gains, working capital improvements, risk reduction, and supplier performance.

Build and manage strategic supplier relationships to enable cost savings, quality improvement, and innovation.

Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on their ability to meet SBD’s requirements for quality, delivery, and cost.

Collaborate with suppliers on annual cost-saving and working capital initiatives.
Required Experience:
-
Minimum five years’ experience in strategic sourcing or related roles in planning, manufacturing, or operations.

Proven success developing and executing sourcing and procurement strategies (medium to long term, 1-3 years) within a category.

Experience driving change in a decentralized, plant-level operational environment.

Strong strategic and operational capabilities, including global sourcing, supplier management, and commodity risk management.

Experience working in a global, multicultural matrix environment; global mindset is essential.

Comfortable managing projects and delivering results in a fast-paced setting.
