Full job description

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Weber State University invites applications for a tenure-track position starting July 1,2027. We seek a broadly trained computational chemist whose expertise may include, but is not limited to,physical chemistry and molecular modeling (quantum chemistry and molecular dynamics),cheminformatics and data science, machine learning and artificial intelligence, and computational approaches to areas such as biomolecular modeling, drug discovery, materials science, catalysis,or electrochemistry. The successful candidate will contribute to the development and integration of computational approaches throughout the undergraduate chemistry and biochemistry curriculum by incorporating appropriate computational,data-science,and AI-based tools into introductory and upper-division courses. The candidate will also be expected to develop an undergraduate-centered research program that provides students with meaningful opportunities to apply computational methods to contemporary problems in chemistry and/or biochemistry. We particularly welcome candidates whose research and teaching can strengthen interdisciplinary collaborations and expand opportunities for students to gain experience with computational and data-driven approaches in chemistry.
