Aston Carter is partnering with a fast-growing manufacturing company in the Kansas City area seeking a Director of Global Sourcing to lead its global purchasing and sourcing strategy. This is a newly created, high-visibility role with the opportunity to build out the sourcing function and develop a team. A major focus will be driving PPV improvements of 1020%, representing approximately $1520 million in annual savings, while leading supplier negotiations, improving vendor performance, and strengthening the companys global supplier network.
The ideal candidate will bring 10+ years of strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain experience within an OEM/manufacturing environment, with strong experience in global sourcing, contract negotiations, cost reduction, and data-driven decision-making. The position offers a $170K$220K base salary plus a 10% annual bonus and the opportunity to make a significant impact within a rapidly growing organization.
Job Summary:
The Director of Global Sourcing will lead the organizations strategic sourcing and procurement initiatives, with a focus on cost reduction, supplier performance, contract negotiations, and supply chain optimization. This individual will develop long-term sourcing strategies, negotiate agreements across key spend categories, evaluate total cost of ownership, and build a strong domestic and international supplier network to support the companys continued growth.
Responsibilities

Develop and execute long-term sourcing strategies aligned with manufacturing and overall business objectives.

Lead complex supplier negotiations across high-value spend categories to achieve cost savings and favorable commercial terms.

Identify, evaluate, and manage strategic supplier relationships to improve quality, cost, delivery, and overall performance.

Analyze total cost considerations, including transportation, tariffs, inventory, quality, and other supply chain expenses.

Develop and execute dual-sourcing strategies to reduce risk and ensure continuity for critical production materials and components.

Manage supplier qualification and performance while maintaining a strong network of approved vendors.

Conduct purchase price and cost-saving analysis to identify opportunities and measure results.

Drive cost-saving initiatives across both direct and indirect spend categories.

Develop supply chain contingency and business continuity plans to mitigate shortages and supplier disruptions.

Establish and monitor supplier KPIs and scorecards, including quality, delivery, lead times, and overall performance.

Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Finance, and other key stakeholders to ensure sourcing strategies support business needs.
Qualifications

10+ years of progressive strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain experience within a manufacturing environment.

Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

Strong experience with domestic and international sourcing and managing global supplier relationships.

Proven background in contract negotiations, strategic cost modeling, supplier management, and cost-reduction initiatives.

Experience developing sourcing strategies for complex or highly engineered components and raw materials.

Knowledge of international trade, logistics, tariffs, regulatory requirements, and global supply chain risks.

Demonstrated ability to develop dual-source and risk-mitigation strategies for production-critical materials.

Experience utilizing ERP systems, analytics, forecasting tools, and other procurement technologies to support sourcing decisions.

Strong ability to use data and market intelligence to drive negotiations and supplier decisions.

Proven ability to collaborate across engineering, operations, finance, quality, and leadership teams.

This is a Permanent position based out of Kansas City, KS.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $170000.00 - $220000.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
