Description
Job Purpose: - The Prep position is an integral role within the kitchen environment, responsible for supporting the culinary team by ensuring that all necessary items are prepared efficiently and accurately. This position aids in the seamless production of food, contributing to the overall success of the kitchen operations. Key Responsibilities: - Prepare items for the chef's case, ensuring all ingredients are fresh and ready for use. - Support daily production needs for the kitchen, assisting in various tasks as required to maintain workflow. - Cut vegetables and other ingredients as needed, adhering to precise specifications to ensure consistency in food preparation. - Maintain safety and sanitation standards within the kitchen, ensuring compliance with health regulations and promoting a clean work environment. - Collaborate with kitchen staff and contribute to a team-oriented atmosphere, fostering effective communication and cooperation. - Safely handle knives and cutting tools, demonstrating proficiency and caution to prevent accidents. - Lift items up to 40lbs without assistance, demonstrating physical capability and adherence to safety protocols. - Maneuver safely within the kitchen, navigating around hot surfaces, freezers, and coolers, ensuring personal safety and the safety of others. This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of 6 months experience in restaurant or retail food production. Preferred candidates will have over a year of experience and possess the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate teamwork, efficiency, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and sanitation.
Qualifications
Required Education: - No specific educational requirements. Preferred Education: - High school diploma or equivalent. Required Experience: - 6 months experience in restaurant or retail food production. Preferred Experience: - 1+ year of experience in restaurant or retail food production. Required Skills and Abilities: - Able to handle knives and cutting tools safely and efficiently. - Teamwork. - Able to lift items up to 40lbs without assistance. - Able to maneuver safely in a kitchen with hot surfaces, freezers, and coolers.
