Counter Sales Representative

JOB PURPOSE Counter Sales Representatives assist retail and wholesale customers in person, at the counter, and over the phone in selecting, answering questions and providing solutions for the purchasing of the correct auto parts and accessories. This role involves providing expert advice, processing sales transactions, maintaining inventory, and ensuring excellent customer service. Reports To: Store Manager DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Assist customers in offering solutions in selecting appropriate auto parts, tools and accessories based on their needs. - Provide expert parts knowledge and recommendations to ensure customer satisfaction while collaborating with other team members to achieve sales goals. - Process sales transactions accurately. - Use computer, cash register, telephone and paper catalog systems. - Maintain accurate records of customer transactions including receipt of payment for goods received from customers. - Maintain a positive and helpful attitude as well as professional conduct. - And other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS - High school diploma or equivalent. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Prior experience in retail sales or customer service preferred. - Be to work on time. - Work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. PHYSICAL DEMANDS - Ability to stand for extended periods of time. - Ability to lift, push or move up to 50 pounds. - Ability to bend, stoop and reach. WORKING CONDITIONS - Work is primarily performed indoors in a retail environment. - May be needed to work evenings, weekends and holidays. - May be exposed to loud noises and varying temperatures.
