Staff Accountant

Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis. This role is well suited for an accounting specialist with strong tax knowledge, advanced Excel skills, and a solid understanding of core accounting practices. The position supports key financial activities across reporting, ledger accuracy, and tax-related work while offering a flexible schedule focused on Tuesday through Thursday.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review tax-related reports to support accurate and timely financial compliance activities.

• Record and post journal entries while maintaining the integrity of the general ledger.

• Assist with corporate tax return activities, including organizing supporting data and validating financial information.

• Manage sales tax tasks by reviewing transactions, reconciling records, and helping ensure reporting accuracy.

• Use Excel extensively to analyze financial data, build schedules, and support accounting reconciliations.

• Maintain reliable accounting records by applying established accounting procedures and internal controls.

• Coordinate assigned work within the Tuesday through Thursday schedule and deliver all deadlines as expected.

Requirements • Experience working in a staff accountant or similar accounting role.

• Knowledge of corporate tax, sales tax, and corporate tax return support.

• Proficiency in preparing journal entries and maintaining general ledger records.

• Strong Excel skills, including the ability to organize, analyze, and reconcile financial data.

• Solid foundation in accounting processes and standard financial practices.

• Ability to manage time effectively and consistently meet scheduled deadlines.

• Availability to work on-site or as scheduled on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
