The internship program offers assignments to optimize your skills and experience while giving you exposure to multiple business areas.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Join a dynamic financial reporting team where you'll gain hands-on experience supporting mutual fund operations, regulatory compliance, and shareholder reporting. In this role, you'll help prepare month-end shareholder reports, financial statements and prospectus updates while assisting with critical SEC filings such as N-PORT, N-CEN, and N-MFP. You'll collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to compile and validate data for board reporting, strengthen internal control documentation, and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
This opportunity is ideal for a motivated accounting or business student who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working with large datasets, and is eager to develop expertise in investment company reporting. Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, effective communication, a continuous improvement mindset, and the ability to leverage technology and AI tools like Copilot to drive efficiency and accuracy.
Position Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of month end fund shareholder reports. This includes semi-annual reports (schedules of investments, financial statements, notes to financial statements), prospectus reporting, and fact sheets.

Assist with SEC regulatory filings and compliance requirements.

Compile and validate data and disclosures for various internal reporting and reports for the Mutual Funds/Series Funds/Core Funds Board of Trustees/Directors.

Improve and enhance process documentation to help mature internal controls environment.

Utilize AI-powered tools and data analytics to improve productivity.
Position Requirements
-
Currently a Junior (Dec. 2027 or May 2028 graduation date) pursuing an undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics.

A history of excellent academic performance (GPA 3.0+)

Ability to leverage AI tools such as Copilot in working with large data sets.

Skilled in MS Office tools, including PowerPoint and Excel

Knowledge and understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to multi-task and deal with tight deadlines in a team environment

Detail oriented with strong organizational and time management skills

Strong oral and written communication skills

The applicable hourly wage range for this full-time role is $26.00 per hour, which factors in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will be determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to, location, relevant experience, skills, and knowledge, business needs, market demand, and other factors Thrivent deems important.
