This role is a mix between acting as an engineering subject matter expert, team lead, and project manager.

What you will do:

  • Perform design or analysis of structures, mechanisms, or mechatronic systems dependent on your specific strengths or expertise.

  • Knowledge of electrical systems and avionics a plus

  • Assist with the management of external contractors for engineering services

  • Mentor less-senior engineers on engineering and project management topics

  • Support hardware procurement including the identification, vetting, and management of new vendors supporting Dcubed engineering projects.

Must-haves:

  • Education: Bachelor's of Science in Aerospace, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering with at least 7 years experience

  • Experience working on spaceflight hardware, with an emphasis on hands-on experience

  • Past project and/or team management experience

  • A passion for working with small, fast paced teams

  • A technical strength in one or more of the following areas: Mechanical Design & Drafting (CAD – Solidworks preferred), Finite Element Analysis (ANYSYS, NASTRAN, FEMAP, etc), Thermal Analysis (Thermal Desktop preferred), Mechanisms Design & Analysis, Mechatronics Systems
