What We Offer
Baylor Role - Saturday/Sunday 5a - 5p
Step into a unit where teamwork, advanced clinical skills, and compassionate care come together to make a meaningful impact. Our PCTU Cardiac Intermediate Unit specializes in caring for patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring, complex medical management, and a higher level of observation than a traditional acute care setting.
Nurses on this team gain valuable experience supporting patients through both pre- and post-procedural cardiac care, while working in an environment that fosters collaboration, growth, and clinical excellence.
You’ll gain hands-on experience with:
-
Providing care for pre- and post-cardiac procedural patients, including pacemakers, ablations, TAVR, and other structural heart interventions
-
Monitoring and interpreting telemetry, recognizing early signs of clinical deterioration
-
Administering and titrating cardiac IV therapies such as heparin, antiarrhythmics, and other medications within intermediate care guidelines
-
Supporting recovery and stabilization for patients transitioning from higher-acuity units or preparing for discharge
-
Educating patients and families on procedures, medications, and long-term cardiac health
-
Specialized focus on cardiac intermediate and procedural patient populations
-
Strong team culture with a highly collaborative and supportive environment
-
Active rewards and recognition committees that celebrate team success
-
Consistently high patient experience scores across the unit
-
Strong team member satisfaction and engagement across Novant Health
-
Robust learning opportunities and clear pathways for clinical growth and advancement
-
A fast-paced, high-acuity setting ideal for nurses looking to advance into cardiac specialties or critical care
What We're Looking For
-
Education:
-
4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.
-
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.
-
Experience: One year relevant experience, preferred.
-
Licensure/Certification:
-
Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required.
-
NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility specific) within 3 months of hire for Emergency Departments and Behavioral Health units, required.
