Full job description
The Manufacturing Engineer I (ME I) applies the knowledge of engineering principles to support the production of curtainwall systems and components. Under close supervision, the ME I learns and supports manufacturing processes through review and integration within all departments, including production, design and engineering, operations, logistics, and field installation. The ME I provides production support through review and analysis of curtain wall design, assembly, and manufacturing tooling. Role and Responsibilities: 1. Learn curtainwall design, fabrication, and assembly fundamentals. 2. Support development and implementation of manufacturing processes for curtainwall systems and components based on project specifications. 3. Assist with review of curtainwall unit designs, configuration sheets, and drawings to understand project-specific constraints. 4. Support development of build sequencing, project planning, and manufacturing workflows. 5. Assist with design and fabrication of typical curtainwall tooling, fixtures, and shop aides to improve efficiency. 6. Provide production support through review and analysis of designs, assemblies, and tooling. 7. Read and interpret architectural and structural drawings. 8. Support process improvement initiatives throughout all phases of the project lifecycle. 9. Coordinate with production, operations, engineering, logistics, and field teams as needed. 10. Use training and mentorship to further develop technical and professional skills. Skills and Abilities: 1. Familiarity with AutoCAD and Inventor or SolidWorks required. 2. Familiarity with 3D printing technology preferred. 3. Strong general computer skills (MS Office, email, engineering systems). 4. Strong written and verbal communication skills. 5. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. 6. Performs technical work and project tasks under direction. Physical Requirements: 1. Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods. 2. Ability to stand and walk the manufacturing floor as needed. Qualifications and Education Requirements: 1. 0-3 years related experience, curtainwall/faade experience preferred 2. Bachelor in Engineering or related field required.
