LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST

Summary

You will serve as a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST, FLEET SUPPORT TEAM of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.

Duties

• You will review program objectives to identify and correct deficiencies in establishing an integrated logistics support program.
• You will provide expert consultation on matters relating to logistics support of assigned weapon systems. You will provide adequate notification of problems and issues evolving from those operations.
• You will interpret and understand the planning, implementation, and execution of modification programs and maintenance programs.
• You will brief Navy officials regarding program logistics issues and represent FRCSW FST in focus groups, conferences, or program reviews concerned with problems, issues, developments and innovations surrounding logistics management.
• You will support NAVAIR readiness and sustainment initiatives, seeking opportunities to apply these concepts to assigned program(s) and contributing to their advancement concepts whenever possible.
• You will pursue opportunities to improve fleet readiness and reduce operating costs on assigned programs, making additional funds available for modernizing and recapitalizing the inventory of naval aircraft and support resources.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Responsible for the logistics functions associated with managing aircraft and weapon systems, involving many technical/ program decisions and major Department of Defense (DoD) Service operating forces/components. Comprehensive knowledge of the methods and techniques utilized in the interpretation and application of the policies and concepts of the broad spectrum of functional logistics management activities related to the logistics support of major Naval Aviation systems. Comprehensive knowledge of the advanced concepts, theories, principles and practices of Integrated Product Support (IPS) necessary to create and establish innovative and effective program policies and procedures for aircraft, engines, components support equipment, trainers, and other major systems as required by the U. S. Navy, other DoD activities, and authorized Foreign Military Sales organizations.
