PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Manager, Responsible AI Governance is responsible for helping lead and mature Constellation’s Responsible AI use case approval process within Risk. The role combines governance, project execution, stakeholder engagement, and risk-focused judgment to support the intake, review, prioritization, approval tracking, and ongoing sustainment of Responsible AI use cases across the enterprise. This position will work closely with business partners, functional reviewers, technology partners, and senior leaders to ensure the process is clear, scalable, well-controlled, and aligned with Constellation’s risk management expectations.

This position will help translate the Responsible AI governance strategy into operational activity, manage competing priorities as the process evolves, communicate effectively with executive stakeholders, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, transparency, and accountability. The role will also support future implementation of workflow or governance software once the program is ready to move from current-state process management to a more automated and sustainable operating model.

PRIMARY DUTIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Manage and sustain the Responsible AI use case intake, review, approval, and tracking process, including coordinating across business submitters, reviewers, approvers, and governance stakeholders.

  • Help develop, prioritize, and execute improvements to the Responsible AI operating model, balancing near-term process needs with longer-term scalability, control, and automation objectives.

  • Communicate with senior leaders and executive stakeholders on Responsible AI process status, key decisions, open items, risks, and areas requiring prioritization or escalation.

  • Apply a risk management mindset to identify process gaps, control weaknesses, unclear ownership, emerging risks, and opportunities to strengthen governance over AI-related activity.

  • Develop clear, executive-ready materials, status updates, decision summaries, and process documentation that translate complex or evolving issues into actionable information for different audiences.

  • Coordinate cross-functional efforts with Risk, Legal, IT, business units, and other stakeholders to support timely review and resolution of Responsible AI use cases.

  • Maintain high-quality records of approvals, decision rationale, process status, and supporting materials to promote transparency, auditability, and consistent governance.

  • Lead or support process improvement initiatives, including workflow design, requirements gathering, stakeholder alignment, testing, change management, training, and eventual implementation of enabling technology or software.

  • Provide guidance, coaching, and day-to-day direction to analysts or other contributors supporting the Responsible AI process, including helping prioritize work and ensure quality deliverables.

  • Monitor process performance and stakeholder feedback to recommend enhancements that improve efficiency, consistency, accountability, and the overall user experience.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, risk management, information systems, technology, data analytics, or a related discipline.

  • 8 or more years of relevant experience in risk management, governance, project management, process management, technology implementation, compliance, controls, or a related field.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, cross-functional processes or initiatives with multiple stakeholders, competing priorities, and evolving requirements.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop clear materials and communicate effectively with senior management and executive audiences.

  • Ability to think critically about risk, governance, controls, process design, accountability, and escalation in a dynamic environment.

  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and follow-through skills, with the ability to drive work independently while collaborating with internal partners.

  • Experience creating process documentation, status reporting, decision materials, and executive-level presentations.

  • Demonstrated judgment, adaptability, and composure when working through ambiguity, challenging issues, or differing stakeholder perspectives.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with AI governance, model risk management, data governance, operational risk, compliance, internal controls, or technology risk.

  • Project management experience, including requirements gathering, stakeholder coordination, implementation planning, change management, testing, and post-implementation support.

  • Familiarity with workflow tools, governance platforms, ServiceNow, Power BI, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, or similar tools used to manage processes and reporting.

  • Ability to connect business objectives, technology-enabled processes, and risk management expectations to produce practical governance solutions.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build credibility with stakeholders across functions and levels of the organization.

  • Experience leading meetings, facilitating decisions, resolving open items, and documenting outcomes in a way that supports accountability and follow-through.

  • Ability to coach junior team members and contribute to knowledge sharing, process discipline, and continuous improvement within the team.

  • Graduate degree, project management certification, risk certification, or relevant training in AI, data, governance, compliance, or technology risk.
