Job Description:

Checks supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures. Scrubs, gowns, and gloves for surgical procedures. Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for procedures, displaying knowledge of procedure and patient positioning. Performs appropriate counts with circulator prior to the operation and before the incision is closed. Gowns and gloves surgeon and assistants. Helps in draping sterile field. Passes instruments and supplies to surgeon during procedures. Maintains the highest standard of sterile technique during procedures. Prepares sterile dressings and cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization. Assists other team members with terminal cleaning of the room and prepping for the next patient. Handles surgical specimens with 100% accuracy. Recognizes and responds immediately to emergency situations appropriately. Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Must have the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care which addresses the physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety age appropriate needs of the patient populations served within the department. [Required]

• Interpersonal skills [Required]

• Completion of validation skills [Required]

• Knowledge of sterile technique, instrumentation, equipment, and sterile field set-up [Required]

• Knowledge of sterilization techniques [Required]

Education:

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Field of Study:

• Graduate of Surgical Technology Program

Work Experience:

• 1+ prior or experience [Preferred]

Additional Information:

• N/A

Licenses and Certifications:

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) [Preferred]

Pay Range:

$20.23 - $37.64
