Job Summary
We are seeking a highly influential technology leader to serve as a force multiplier for our Technology executives and business partners. This role sits at the center of execution, helping leaders balance strategic priorities, regulatory commitments, risk reduction, and day-to-day operations while driving coordinated action across a complex technology organization.
The successful candidate will establish the operating structures, governance, partnerships, and management disciplines that enable CIOs and their leadership teams to deliver against business commitments, regulatory obligations, modernization objectives, and technology priorities. They will drive alignment across demand, investment, workforce, capacity, delivery, and risk to ensure leaders have the transparency and decision support required to make effective tradeoff decisions. Success requires exceptional executive communication skills, strong business acumen, and significant technical breadth as you bridge the gap across engineering, architecture, data, cyber, infrastructure, AI, delivery, workforce, and financial management topics helping CIOs navigate competing priorities and organizational complexity.
Depth & Scope:

Oversees portfolios with a significant / high level of regulatory oversight
-
Oversees overall portfolio management office for a key business segment or corporate function (e.g. TDS, Wealth, CBAC, Finance etc.) and generally includes financial oversight, performance metrics, benefits realization analysis and other governance and control related functions (e.g. strategic in-take and prioritization, methodology implementation etc.)

Manages overall portfolio financials

Oversees a significant portfolio comprised of multiple concurrent projects / programs, including IT, generally up to and including projects at the Tier 1 level, with a high complexity profile
-
May on occasion be required to lead the delivery of Tier 1 projects / programs
-
Directly manages a team of Senior Program Directors / Senior Project Managers and ensure talent capabilities are developed to support long term goals for the organization

Provides strategic guidance to business / functional leaders to ensure escalated concerns or regulatory or governance related portfolio issues are appropriately managed
Education & Experience:

Undergraduate / Postgraduate degree

Project Management Certification required

10+ years relevant experience

Comprehensive knowledge of the practices, procedures and principles of project management

Exposure to financial management with respect to tracking, forecasting and managing project budgets

Ability to make an impact, influence and achieve results with effective negotiation, problem-solving and communication skills

May manage multiple cross-LoB Project and Program Managers and / or additional project resources, consisting of Business Analysts, Requirements SMEs, Business SMEs and Technology Resources where applicable to the project / program / portfolio

Provides advice and counsel to project teams, program resources and business partners

Coaches, leads and mentors team members and provides regular performance assessments

Ensures effective on boarding and off boarding programs are in place for project resources

Oversees multiple projects / programs aligned to portfolio, external vendors, project managers and consultants across multiple businesses

Allocates resources across portfolio to ensure successful and timely delivery

Oversees succession planning to ensure there is a strong pipeline of talent to progress through levels

Champions project management training curriculum and works closely with key partners to develop and deliver necessary programs

Identifies stretch opportunities and on the job experience opportunities for team members

Makes an impact by getting things done, focusing on what matters, owning and delivering superior results for all stakeholders in both the short and long-term
