Full job description

Description

The Controller serves as the finance leader for a business generating over $500 million in annual revenue. This position is responsible for all financial accounting, reporting, planning, analysis, internal controls, and business performance management activities.

As a member of the Leadership Team, the Controller partners with operational and commercial leaders to drive profitable growth, improve business performance, optimize working capital, and support strategic decision-making across the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead all accounting, financial reporting, and month-end close activities.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and accounting standards.

  • Direct the preparation of the annual budget, monthly forecasts, and strategic plan.

  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support business decisions, growth initiatives, and profitability improvement.

  • Monitor and communicate business performance, including sales, gross margin, operating expenses, PBIT, working capital, and cash flow.

  • Oversee the accounting for inventory including annual physical accounting, monthly book to perpetual reconciliation, analysis of obsolete inventory and required reserves

  • Coordinates and conducts timely account reconciliations monthly

  • Lead capital investment analysis, including ROI and payback evaluations.

  • Partner with leadership to identify risks and opportunities and develop action plans to achieve business objectives.

  • Prepare and present financial results and forecasts for Business Unit and Corporate leadership.

  • Lead, develop, and mentor the finance and accounting team.

  • Coordinates financial audits, internal controls, tax compliance, and other corporate finance requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in accounting required; CPA preferred.

  • 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including leadership roles.

  • Experience supporting a large, multi-location business preferred.

  • Strong background in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, strategic planning, and business analysis.

  • Proven leadership, communication, and business partnering skills.
