Job Summary

You will lead the programs that stand up, retrofit, and expand our distribution centers and put automation into them. You will also act as the link between our DCs and the hospitals we serve. You own delivery of the capital work, and you own the fix when a hospital has a problem. You report on outcomes: sites live, capacity added, dollars saved, and customer issues closed.

Core Responsibilities

Capital programs and site build-out

  • Own end-to-end delivery of multi-site capital programs, from business case through commissioning and handoff to site operations.

  • Lead new-site stand-ups, retrofits, and expansions across the DC network. Set the plan, sequence the work, and hold vendors and internal teams to dates.

  • Manage program CapEx and cost-reduction targets. Track spend against plan and flag variance early.

  • Lead commissioning of automation equipment, including conveyors, sortation, and robotics. Define acceptance criteria and sign off on readiness.

  • Work with engineering, operations, IT, and vendors to resolve design, integration, and schedule conflicts.

  • Write the standard work that sites use after go-live, so the gains hold.

Hospital and customer solutions

  • Act as the point of contact for hospitals on complaints and issues tied to deliveries, storeroom organization, and inventory management.

  • Work with DC operations managers to find the root cause of customer issues and fix the process, not just the incident.

  • Visit hospitals to review storeroom organization, inventory practices, and readiness for shipments. Give practical guidance to improve them.

  • Build lasting relationships with hospital supply chain staff. Be the trusted resource they call first, and tell them early about changes that affect them.

  • Feed what you learn from hospitals back into DC and program design, so new sites and automation fit what customers actually need.

Reporting and travel

  • Keep accurate records of customer issues, resolutions, and program milestones. Build dashboards and reports that show trends and repeat problems.

  • Report status to senior leadership. State the blocker, the options, and the ask.

  • Travel approximately 50% to active sites and hospitals. Some time in manufacturing and logistics environments.

Qualifying Experience

  • 8+ years in program management, engineering, or operations, with at least 3 years running capital programs.

  • Proven delivery of multi-site deployments, on schedule and on budget.

  • Direct experience commissioning material handling or automation systems.

  • Operations management experience in a high-volume warehouse or DC.

  • Track record managing programs of $[X]M or more in CapEx.

  • Strong analytical and root cause skills. You can build the business case and track the numbers.

  • Skill with data and workflow tools. You can build your own dashboards, not just read them.

  • Strong communication skills with both hospital staff and DC operations leaders.

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain, business, or a related field. Equivalent experience considered.

  • Experience in healthcare materials management or distribution is preferred.
