Description

The Worldwide Grocery Stores (WWGS) Central Selection team is responsible for governing selection strategy and execution across Amazon's grocery portfolio. This role works closely with Category, Product, Tech, and BI Teams to deliver effective tools, drive improvements, discover opportunities and present recommendations to business partners and management. This role combines strategic thinking with analytical rigor to create and implement location-specific selection frameworks that optimize both customer experience and operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have strong business sense combined with a solid understanding of technical concepts. Key job responsibilities

This creates scale benefit and allows business teams to focus on strategic inputs rather than executional tasks, and prevents tech teams from receiving disparate, sometimes competing, development requests.

 Maintain customer obsession through standardized, mission-based selection logic that ensures every banner carries the right products for the right missions, localized to customer demand and regional preferences.

  • Experience with selection strategy, category management, or space planning

  • Advanced Excel proficiency and experience with Microsoft Access or SQL

  • Proven track record designing and implementing process automation solutions using AI/ML tools to drive operational efficiency

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, cross-functional projects with significant business impact

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to influence without authority

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • SQL proficiency and experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, QuickSight) or business intelligence platforms

  • Background in retail, grocery, or e-commerce operations
