Job Summary and Qualifications
This position supports the Continental Division by optimizing the quality of life of all those served by expanding beyond the traditional focus on medical needs to the needs of the whole person. The Supervisor organizes patient care activities and serves as a clinical resource to staff in their designated specialty(s) in providing quality nursing care across multiple facilities within HealthONE. Responsible for working with physicians to obtain necessary supplies, instruments, and/or equipment in their specialty areas. Updates physician preference cards and provides in-services and training to OR staff. Oversees and directs the care of assistive personnel, maintaining final accountability for the care given to assigned patients. When need arises, will perform other duties as assigned by their leader.
The Division Supervisor will assist in the maintenance and distribution of facility reports, educate providers, Department Chairs and Section Chiefs on the Surgical process, ensure timely follow-up and communication to Division leaders to meet reporting deadlines, work collaboratively with staff or leaders from all departments. They will be responsible for all training, education, competency, and behavior/performance for matrixed or direct reports. They will lead Cardiovascular clinical training and competency with department leaders and educators. The Division Supervisor will ensure top quality care, patient safety, and staff/provider experience.
In this role you will:

Function as a Subject Matter Expert to division facilities related to all OR or Specialty OR matters.

Takes an active part of all new systems implementation, training and management related to Division ORs.

Identify and process improvement opportunities or problems that must be identified and resolved immediately so the process is not delayed.

Ensure that operations conform to local, state, and federal governmental regulations at all facilities supported
-
Function as an education resource and consultant to facility Perioperative/Operational Leaders and Providers
-
Functions as a resource person for staff member and assists in necessary education or clinical operation/practice if needed. May Staff-IN for cases. Must maintain all compliant training, certifications, and certs to operate.

Maintain clinical knowledge of areas within the department Manages and collaborates on aspects pertaining to supplies, instruments, and equipment for the Facility Operating Room Main or Specialty department

Works with senior leadership, department directors, unit managers and program coordinators across the facility to streamline processes, develop best evidence-based clinical protocols and facilitate cardiovascular patient care.

Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.

Makes decisions regarding activities with these areas based on Administrative Operational Standards, Nursing Administrative Standards, Human Resource Standards, and Standards of Care for the unit, in collaboration with other members of the management team.

Handles concerns or complaints from physicians, visitors and patients

Provide leadership in compliance with regulatory agency standards, national nursing standards and specialty nursing standards

Ensures new employees receive appropriate orientation. Facilitates ongoing education and training. Assist with competency development.

Establish effective working relationships with physicians, employees and all facilities.

The Supervisor works collaboratively in guiding the Divisions growth, patient satisfaction, physician relations and fiscal responsibility.

What qualifications you will need:

Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
