About the Position: This position will be located in Directorate of Mental Health, Naval Medical Center, San Diego CA. Work is typically performed sitting at a desk and using a computer. The position requires periods of walking, standing, sitting and bending. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Duties

• Work with highly complex cases in which individuals are severely impacted by moderate to severe psychiatric diagnoses.
• Collect bio-psychosocial information about patients through interview, case history, observation techniques, and other assessment methods.
• Analyze information collected to identify symptoms and develop treatment plan.
• Provide comprehensive social work services in the form of casework and case management by consulting on or developing discharge plans.
• Provide individual, family, and group clinical counseling services using various evidenced based modalities as clinically indicated for adults and children.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on psychiatric diagnosis.

Basic Requirements for Social Worker (Clinical): Master's degree (or higher degree) in social work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service(GS-11) AND Special Placement Factor: Licensure: A current, active, valid, unrestricted clinical license to practice Social Work independently, offered by a U.S. State, District of Columbia, commonwealth, territory or jurisdiction. (NOTE: You must attach a copy of your license) Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
