Full job description
At the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), we plan, build, maintain, and protect the transportation systems that connect communities, support commerce, and keep Louisiana moving. This is an administrative role that requires attention to detail, safety awareness, and strong analytical and documentation skills. This position serves as the timekeeper, staff specialist for voucher processing, Loss Prevention and Safety Liaison, and Telecommunication Liaison for the Right of Way Section at Headquarters. AN IDEAL CANIDATE SHOULD POSESS THE FOLLLOWING COMPETENCIES:

- Following Policies and Procedures: The ability to follow, reinforce, adapt, or develop policies and procedures to maintain compliance with federaland state legal requirements, State Civil Service rules, and organizational policies.

Three years of experience in administrative services.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION: Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience. The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found here.Job Duties:

Serve as Primary Timekeeper for the Right of Way Section.

Collect, review, resolve, and submit employee time entries in accordance with LaGov Timekeeper procedures.

Prepare and maintain accurate bi-weekly time reports.

Serve as a staff specialist in Right of Way voucher processing.

Receive, review, and process sales and vouchers for the Real Estate Section, including headquarters and regional offices. Retrieve and distribute vendor checks averaging $44.5 million annually.

Serve as Loss Prevention/Safety Liaison, ensuring compliance with LaGov reporting procedures and safety requirements.

Coordinate the Section’s safety program in accordance with Louisiana Office of Risk Management and LADOTD Loss Prevention requirements.

Serve as Vehicle Management Coordinator; monitor FuelTrac reports and vehicle logs.

Serve as Telecommunications Liaison, coordinating and resolving phone and communication issues for the Right of Way Section.

Provide emergency and disaster support as needed.
Position-Specific Details: Appointment Type: This position may be filled as either a probational appointment (open to all qualified applicants); a promotion (open to all statewide classified and Agency-wide permanent status employees); or by detail to special duty. Compensation: Additional compensation may be considered impart with extraordinary qualifications in accordance with State Civil Service Rules and DOTD policy.
