Full job description
Description We are looking for an experienced Compensation Manager to support the design, evaluation, and administration of compensation programs for a contract position based in Greenbush, Minnesota. This role focuses on delivering market-informed pay strategies, strengthening compensation practices, and guiding compensation-related decisions with data-driven analysis. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in compensation benchmarking, survey participation, and broader compensation and benefits support within complex organizations.
Responsibilities:

Lead compensation reviews by analyzing internal pay structures and external market data to recommend competitive salary ranges and pay practices.

Conduct benchmarking studies using compensation surveys and other market intelligence to evaluate job pricing and support equitable pay decisions.

Partner with leadership, HR, and business stakeholders to develop and refine compensation programs aligned with organizational goals.

Prepare detailed compensation analyses and reporting that support budgeting, workforce planning, and executive decision-making.

Assess existing compensation and benefits frameworks to identify opportunities for improvement in effectiveness, competitiveness, and consistency.

Provide guidance on salary offers, promotional increases, and other pay actions by applying compensation policies and market insights.

Participate in compensation survey submissions and interpret survey results to strengthen market positioning and program design.

Ensure compensation practices are documented clearly and administered in compliance with applicable policies and regulatory requirements. Requirements • 10+ years of experience in compensation, with strong depth in compensation analysis and program management.

Demonstrated expertise in compensation benchmarking, job evaluation, and the use of compensation surveys.

Solid understanding of compensation and benefits principles, including pay structures, salary planning, and market pricing.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex compensation data into clear recommendations.

Experience partnering with senior leaders and cross-functional teams on compensation-related decisions.

Proficiency in creating reports, models, and presentations that communicate compensation findings effectively.

Knowledge of compensation governance, documentation standards, and compliance considerations.
